Macedonia Baptist Church family will celebrate its 108th church anniversary Oct. 13 with the Rev. MacArthur Myers Sr. preaching the 11 a.m. message. A meal will be served following morning service. The guest speaker for the afternoon service at 2:30 p.m. will be the Rev. Jimmy L. Tarpley and church family from Mount Olive Baptist Church in Gretna.

Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the 11th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Antonel A. Myler Sr. at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Walter Coles and Union Missionary Baptist Church family from Pittsville as guests. Lunch will be served following morning service.

High Street Baptist Church will celebrate 154 years at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 with the Rev. Voight Hairston speaking.

Woodlawn Baptist Church, 2500 Westover Drive, will have the Sowell Family, an award-winning bluegrass gospel band, in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Trinity Baptist Church’s anniversary committee and music ministry will present the “Reunion Choir” in concert at 4 p.m. Sunday.

PLATE SALE

New Design Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, U.S. 58, will hold a plate fundraiser sale beginning at 10 a.m. for $8 per plate; fish sandwiches for $4. Plates include one meat and two vegetables, cornbread or roll.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION WORKSHOP

The Sunday School Union of Danville & Vicinity will hold a Christian Education Workshop at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 13602 Martinsville Highway, Cascade, Oct. 14 to 16 at 7 p.m. with registration at 6:30 p.m. There will be classes and instructors.
