HOMECOMING SERVICES

St. Mark Pentecostal Holiness Church, U.S. 58, will hold homecoming service beginning at 10 a.m. Sept. 22 with lunch at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Gerald Kirby will be guest speaker.

Calvary Baptist Church, 416 Edgewood Drive, will hold homecoming service at 11 a.m. Sept. 22 with guest speaker Joe Cornell. Luncheon to follow.

ANNIVERSARIES

Bethel Baptist Church, 6620 Old Richmond Road, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Clarence McLaughlin, the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service. Guest minister will be the Rev. Re’shawn Woodson, associate minister of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Ringgold. Lunch will be served following morning worship.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Ringgold, will celebrate its music ministory’s anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. Various groups will be on the program.

Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 201 Barrett St., will celebrate its senior choir ministry’s anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Dwight Wilkerson as guest speaker along with the Sons of Glory and the Dan River Bethel Baptist Church of South Boston.

New Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Keeling, will celebrate its 113th church anniversary/homecoming at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Larry Daye preaching the 11 a.m. service. The Rev. James Pettus and Hope Chapel Baptist Church family will be guests. Lunch will be served following morning service.

Staunton Baptist Church, 6101 Straightstone Park, Long Island, will observe its 118th church anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday with guest preacher the Rev. Carlton Jackson Jr., of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, in Lynchburg.

Guiding Light Apostolic Church, 181 St. Moriah Road, Wentworth, North Carolina, will celebrate the Rev. Gloria Allen’s retirement anniversary service at 3 p.m. Sunday with guest speaker Bishop Felicia Kallah, of Benaja Holiness Church in Reidsville, North Carolina.

Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church Senior Choir will celebrate its 69th anniversary Sunday. Various groups have been invited.

New Espesus Baptist Church, 375 Ephesus Church Road, Semora, North Carolina, will celebrate its 347th church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sept. 22 with the Rev. Alfred Faulkner preaching and the Elijah Grove choir rendering the music. Lunch will be served between morning worship and afternoon service.

Junior ushers of Laurel Grove Baptist Church, Sutherlin, will celebrate its anniversary at 2 p.m. with elder Carl Luck Sr. and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, of Hurt, as guest along with musical guest Harmony N’ Faith of Bellevue Baptist Church.

FAMILY & FRIENDS WEEKEND

Calvary Baptist Church, 218 Holbrook St., will hold Family & Friends Weekend on Sept. 21 to 22 with a fish fry and hot dog lunch on Sept. 21 beginning at noon, followed by games at 1 p.m. The 11 a.m. Sept. 22 message will be delivered by the Rev. Travis Burgess, of Mayo Grove Baptist Church, Ridgeway.

BACK TO SCHOOL TEA

White Rock Baptist Church, 418 Locust Lane, will hold a Back to School Tea at noon Sept. 21 with Wynette Richardson as guest speaker. School supplies will be given to all students.

REVIVAL SERVICES

Calvary Baptist Church, 218 Holbrook St., will hold fall revival services at 7 p.m. Sept. 25 to 27 with devotions at 6:45 p.m. The Rev. Dwight L. Wilkerson, pastor of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church in South Boston, will be the evangelist. Special music, as well as parking lot security will be provided each night.

The Sunnyside Division of Clergy will hold revival services Monday through Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 220 Ferry St., South Boston, at 7 p.m. with guest preacher the Rev. Charles Dunning, pastor of Jericho Missionary Baptist Church in Lynchburg. Vocalist Leslie Swann will render the music.

Sunny Level Baptist Church, 485 Milton Highway, Ringgold, will have the Rev. Steven Faulkner, associate minister of Old Mount Zion Baptist Church, Roxboro, North Carolina, as guest speaker for the 11:30 a.m. service Sunday.

Kerry L. Goode Sr. will deliver his initial sermon at 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at White Oak Grove Baptist Church, 9012 Melon Rod, Sutherlin. Lunch will be served following service.

Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church, 857 Java Road, Java, will hold Family & Friends Day at 1 p.m. today.

CHURCH CONFERENCE

The Remnant Church of Power congregation and the Rev. Antonio L. Fitzgerald will hold its third church conference ending from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday with a leadership seminar with the Rev. Jay Patrick, of Richmond, for all leaders, aspiring leaders and members. Registration is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Service will be held at the church, 821 Memorial Drive.

YARD & BAKE SALE

Pelham United Methodist Church will hold a yard and bake sale from 7 a.m. to noon Sept. 21 . Tables are available for rent for $10.

FIRST LADY’S DAY

The Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Alton, will celebrate First Lady’s Day at 11 a.m. Sunday with guest preacher the Rev. Joyce Standfield Samuel, from East New Hope Baptist Church in Danville.
