ANNIVERSARIES/ HOMECOMINGS

Union Street Missionary Baptist Church family will observe the ninth anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Charles E. Hairston, during the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. The Rev. Brandon Hairston, a member of Shiloh Way of the Cross Church, will deliver the anniversary sermon. Lunch will be served following morning worship.

Union Hall Baptist Church will celebrate its church anniversary and homecoming at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Leroy Thomas will preach the 11 a.m. service and the 2:30 p.m. guest speaker will be the Rev. Steven Haley, from Hat Creek Baptist Church, accompanied by his choir and congregation.

East New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and the Rev. Rufus Fuller, 321 Airport Drive, will celebrate the 145th church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Maurice Ferrell and Vance Street Missionary Baptist Church family will be guests.

The gospel chorus of Sunny Level Baptist Church, 485 Milton Highway, Ringgold, will celebrate its anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday with guests the Rev. Michael Bethel and For God So Loved the World Outreach Ministries in Danville.

Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 201 Barrett St., will celebrate its 122nd church anniversary and homecoming at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. William Foust and the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church of Semora, North Carolina will be guests. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m.

Evangel Temple Holy Church, U.S. 58 at Berry Hill Road and Duncan Drive, will hold its 31st homecoming during the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Alfrieta Bennett-Reaves. Lunch will be served following service.

Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church will hold a combined music ministry anniversary at 2:30 p.m. July 28 with guests the Rev. Dwight Wilkerson and Dan River Bethel Church family.

MEN’S DAY

Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, 220 Vandola Church Road, will host its annual men’s day program, “100 Men In Black,” at 3 p.m. Sunday with guest preacher the Rev. Tony Scott and Zion Grove Baptist Church of Clover.

Prospect Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate men’s day at 3 p.m.Sunday with the Rev. Jermaine Parker and Smith Chapel Baptist Church congregation as guests.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Fairview Baptist Church, 3853 Zion Road, Gretna, will have vacation Bible school beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The theme will be “In the Wild.”

New Ephesus Baptist Church Pastors’ Aide Ministry, 375 Ephesus Church Road, Semora, North Carolina, will host a rainbow tea at 4 p.m. July 27.

COME AS YOU ARE MONTH

Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church family, 1588 Shady Grove Road, Providence, North Carolina, will have a “Come As You Are Month” starting Aug. 4. During August all services 8 a.m., 9:40 a.m. Sunday school and 11 a.m. services will welcome casual clothes.

Zion Grove Baptist Church, Clover, will hold youth revival at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday with guest preacher the Rev. KeAunte’ Clements, of Danville. Guest choirs will be Shiloh Baptist Church youth choir, of Drakes Branch, and Bennett Memorial Baptist Church youth choir, of Danville.

Bennett Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, will hold its youth revival at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday with revivalist the Rev. Jonathan King, pastor of the Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church, Sutherlin.

Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Church, 1101 Piney Forest Road, will have its men and women’s day celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday with guest speaker the Rev. Larry Day accompanied by the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church and various male chorus from the area.
