Westover Christian Academy host three schools in a cross country quad-meet Monday.

Westover Christian Academy’s cross country team hosted three other schools — Alamance Christian, Carlisle and Community — in a quad-meet Monday.

It was a hot afternoon, but middle school girls dominated as five out of the top six finishers were WCA athletes. Finishing first was Gracie Johnson at 13:11, Laicie Walker was second at 13:50, Kaleigh Johnson finished third at 14:29, Brooke Barrington was fifth at 17:28, and Joanna Chen finished sixth at 19:53.

Middle school boys also won as Christopher Bowman finished first overall (12:13) followed by Colston Ware second at 12:25. Trey Leopold finished fifth overall at 14:05.

Varsity girls finished second overall led by Lanie Crumpton (second, 24:20), Reagan Massingale (sixth, 25:50) and Taylor Waller (seventh, 26:18).

Varsity boys finished second overall led by Noah Barber (second, 19:31) and Alex Boaz (third, 20:40).

WCA hosts its first WCA Invitational at 4 p.m. today with teams from Holy Cross, Community, Kings Academy, and Carlisle.
