Egg hunt

Participants enjoy a community egg hunt at the Community Market in 2018.

The Easter bunny will pay an early visit to Danville this Sunday at the Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza.

Danville Parks and Recreation will host the egg hunt — free and open to children ages 12 and under —from 2 to 4 p.m. at shelter No. 6 in Ballou Park, which is near the baseball diamond. Parking is limited. Participants can expect a short walk to the shelter from the parking area.

The Eggstravaganza will include an egg hunt, themed activities and photos with the Easter bunny. In the event of bad weather, activities will be moved inside Ballou Recreation Center.

Any announcements regarding weather-related changes will be made Friday.

The egg hunt will be divided into segments based on age. An inclusive hunt, sponsored by Center for Pediatric Therapies, also will take place, however, registration is closed.

The West Main Street entrance to Ballou Park will be closed from noon to 5 p.m. All participants should use the Park Avenue entrance to enter Ballou Park; signage and volunteers will be on site directing traffic.

For more information, call Danville Parks and Recreation’s Community Recreation Office at (434) 799-5150.
