Who really has America's best interests at heart?

To the editor:

Reps. Ilhan Omar, Alexandra Casio-Ortez, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib — “The Squad” — really do love their country. Do you, President Trump?

I bet they pay their taxes and have let Americans see them, unlike you who has something to hide and bragged how you get out of paying your fair share. I bet they wouldn’t believe Vladimir Putin who said Russia didn’t have anything to do with the 2016 election, but you did even though your intelligence agency told you otherwise. I bet they wouldn’t be investigated by Mueller who didn’t say that you were innocent of obstruction of justice. I bet they wouldn’t try to scam innocent people out of their money on a fake university that you had to pay millions to keep from going to court and tell lie after lie. I bet they wouldn’t be so chummy with a dictator in North Korea who has killed his own family members and sent innocent people to concentration camps. I bet these women wouldn’t try to stop the Affordable Care Act without having something to replace it with and thus stopping health insurance for millions.

The Democratic candidates talk about how to make this country better. Trump talks about people, tells lies and spills hate. Nothing that would help the average American. like health care and infrastructure. I could go on and on.

He tweets, “Go back to where you come from.” He didn’t realize these women are American-born except one from Somalia. All he knows is that they are all women of color. Kind of like when he said we had airports in the 1700s and the kidney is part of the heart. Statements like that make me uneasy especially when he knows the codes to the nuclear football. If Trump didn’t like what these congresswomen said, he should say so, not tell them to go back where they come from.

Of course, this makes his hateful base happy, and David Duke of the KKK said that’s why we elected him. White nationalists love this, also. That’s really what got this man elected, and so he’s going to use it again. Trump’s bigoted words are so contrary to who we are as a country that we literally have laws against this that this man knows nothing about and who could less about. The ghost of George Wallace is really this nation’s president now.

God have pity on us and this wonderful country.
