Writer: 'Erase Iran from the map'

To the editor:

It’s time to face facts about the Iranian problem. For the last 1,300 years, the religious leadership of Iran has wanted the destruction of Christian and Jews. And they have not wavered from that desire.

Yes, there are a lot of good Muslims, and they are good citizens but only in general, in locations where they are in the minority. Anyplace where ruled by Muslims is a very dangerous place to be if you’re Christian or Jewish.

The religious leadership is calling the shots, and they are taking them whenever they think they can get away with it. A negotiated diplomatic solution is preferable but not a realistic aspiration. They are not interested in playing nice and do not believe they will be made to pay for their crimes. They do not have the same values or interest as the rest of the civilized Western world.

I would say, give the Muslim leadership six months to clean up their act and stop all of these worldwide terrorist attacks, and then when they attacked again I would put an end to Iran’s existence.

They will use words to delay and buy time and nothing more. The question is, how long is the rest of the free world going to tolerate this open hostility before acting? How many more innocent Christians and Jews have to die before we act? The United States can provide the big stick, but only if the rest of the gutless world is willing to back us up in this.

Nothing short of the total destruction of Iran will do. This is very drastic and distasteful solution but there are no good, no clean solutions to this problem that has been brewing for 1,300 years. Pin-prick strikes will only exasperate the problem and allow things to escalate. I say erase Iran from the map and deal with the survivors in accordance to how they are acting.

Actually it should be the Chinese or Japan who take action, but the Chinese see this as a chance to weaken American influence and Japan is unable and unwilling to act, seeing us as a friendly competitor. And if you stop to think about it, who do you want taking action, them or us?

Tell the Russians to stand aside and not to interfere, and it will be over in less than a day. No ongoing strikes. No invasions. Just one big flash, and it’s over.

Cuccinelli not fit for the post

To the editor:

Ken Cuccinelli was just appointed to run U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Cuccinelli was the attorney general of Virginia for four years. He was mean-spirited then, and he’s only gotten worse. He is not the right man for the job.

As attorney general, he fought against our health care by suing the federal government to stop the Affordable Care Act. Now, he talks about immigrants like they’re not real people. You can’t be cruel to people. Government needs to help people, not tear them down.

He called people seeking asylum at the border an “invasion.” But he’s wrong. It’s just regular people trying to get away from bad situations.

Think real hard and look at what he has said. Should Ken Cuccinelli really be in charge of our immigration system? I don’t think so.
