Kay Washburn Willette, aged 80, of Providence, N.C., peacefully and gloriously joined her Lord and Savior on the morning of the Sabbath, November 3, 2019, at her residence. Born on June 9, 1939, to the late Alice and John Washburn, Kay was married for 59 wonderful years to her loving husband Al Willette. In addition to being a saintly wife and mother, Kay was a fervent and devout servant of the Lord, attending and establishing missions in Kenya, India, and Puerto Rico as well as local outreaches, including jail ministry. She impacted countless lives through her unending sacrifice and gentle humility. Kay made her church home with The Church of Truth in Danville. In addition to her husband, Kay is survived by two sons, Hunter Willette (Angela) of Belmont, N.C., and David Willette (Brandi) of Chatham, Va., a brother, John Washburn of The Villages, Fla.; as well as four grandchildren, Chase, Ryan, Eli, and Austin Willette. Kay was predeceased by a son, Jeff Willette, and a grandson Alec Willette, in addition to her parents. The family will receive friends, from 2 until 3 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave, Danville. A funeral service will be held directly following the visitation, at 3 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2019, also at the West End Chapel and officiated by Pastor Kyle Preskitt. A private interment will follow the funeral service.
