Lynn Tweed, age 45, of Danville, Va. formally from Lake Mills, Iowa, took his final breath on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va. after a courageous battle with an illness. A private memorial service will be held at a later date with the interment at the Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills, Iowa. On December 21,1973, Ray and Barbara Tweed were delighted to add a son to their family. Lynn graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1992 and then served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1996. Lynn met and later married Laurel Barker in 1997 in Joice, Iowa where they made their first home with son, Trent Tweed. Although this union later came to an end, Laurie and Lynn remained friends. Lynn earned his Mechanical Engineering BS degree from Iowa State University in 2005. Employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber most of his career led Lynn to move out East and required journeys all over the world. These working trips spiked Lynn's interest in other countries' cultures and he loved to visit non-tourist neighborhoods to learn more about the locals' way of life. Lynn also enjoyed Civil War reenactment, Twitchcon, Dragoncon, model building and spending time with family and friends. Lynn will forever be cherished and loved by his son, Trent Tweed of Detroit, Mich. and Lynn's mother, Barbara Tweed of Lake Mills, Iowa. He will also be missed by his surviving siblings, Bev Retland of Forest City, Iowa, Deb (Brian) Banwart of Garner, Iowa and Becky (Dave) Arneson of Joice, Iowa. Other family members include six nephews and one niece and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be remembered with love by his lifelong friends Justin Peters, Mike Ingebritson, Shawn Madaj and Nathan Mellenthien. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Tweed in 2011.
