Victoria Peeler Townsend, 98, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at her daughter's home in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. Victoria was born on February 14, 1921, in Danville, Virginia, to N.C. and Winnie Peeler. She resided in Danville, Virginia throughout most of her life and was married for 60 years to Charles Leon Townsend who passed away in 2013. Victoria was a lifelong member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church in Danville. During her early years she loved the game of golf and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her church, husband, and family. She is survived by her children, Dianne Rodgers, Cheryl and Tommy Coleman, and Meryl and Ron Worley, as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and son, David M. Baker Jr. Per her wishes no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Victoria's memory to Moffett Memorial Baptist Church, 1026 N. Main Street, Danville, VA 24540.
