Nancy Lester Riddle, 88, of 223 Meadowbrook Drive, departed this life on Saturday, November 23, 2019. Nancy was born in Pittsylvania County, Va., on May 3, 1931, the daughter of the late Obie Thomas Lester and Minnie Jo Adams Lester. Nancy worked for Craddock & Terry Shoe Factory for a short time and later for Dan River Inc. where she retired. She was a faithful member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where she had many friends; she was in the Esther Sunday School Class. She loved the Lord and her family. She enjoyed crocheting afghans that she gave away. On October 17, 1947, she married the love of her life Joseph Linwood Riddle; they were married for 64 years until his passing on May 18, 2011. Survivors include her beloved daughter, Kathy R. Jordan, and husband, Perry; a brother, Clayton T. Lester, and wife, Polly; a granddaughter. Nicole Jordan; two step-grandchildren, Janine Garrett and Perry Jordan III; two great-grandchildren, Marcus and Nikayla; and four step-great-grandchildren, Emily, Tanner, Seth, and Brianna; and a sister-in-law, June Lester. In addition to her husband, three brothers, Bryant, Buddy, and Delbert Lester predeceased her. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel conducted by the Rev. Susan Hannah. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
