On Monday, July 1, 2019, Darlene Fitzgerald Martin departed from this life of labor to reward. She was born on May 30, 1959, to the late Dillard Fitzgerald Sr. and Rebecca Carolina Lovelace. Darlene was united in Holy matrimony to the late Herman Junior Martin on July 10, 1976. She joined Trueway Deliverance Holiness Church under the leadership of the late Bishop William Waddell where she was ordained and held many titles. She later moved her membership to Christ Miracle Temple under the leadership of Bishop Raymond and Pastor Cynthia Carter. Darlene was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Woody, Eula Younger, and Clara Martin; and one brother, Thomas Fitzgerald. Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted and loving children, Catechdra Paylor (Tony) of Yanceyville, N.C., Denise Martin, Herman Jason Martin, and Christopher Martin (Porshea) all of Danville, Va.; four sisters, Joan Smith (Carl), Shirley Fitzgerald, and Lisa Fitzgerald and Mary Emma Martin all of Chatham, Va.; three brothers, Dillard Fitzgerald, David Fitzgerald (Kaye), and Roy Fitzgerald Sr., all of Danville, Va.; three very special women that she loved dearly, Carsheana Adams, Tanesha Stone, and Latrese Fitzgerald; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Celebration of life service for Darlene Martin will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019, at 12 p.m. at the Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church, 857 Java Road, Java, Va. Pastor Antonel Myler, Pastor, Elder Christopher Fitzgerald, Eulogy, New Vision. Interment will follow at Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Java, Va.
