James Daniel "Jimmy" Leigh, age 56, of Danville, Va., formerly of Chase City, Va., entered into rest on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. He was born on October 10, 1962, in South Hill, Va., the son of the late Arthur Burchett Leigh and the late Inez Marie Smith Leigh. He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Leigh Jr. Jimmy was a very loving father and brother and always supported his son, Ollie. He was an avid Redskins Fan. Jimmy loved life, he was easy going, and he had a lot of fun. He was a social butterfly and had a lot of friends. He was always lending a helping hand to everyone in his community and was known as the neighborhood taxi driver. Jimmy was a jack of all trades and enjoyed working on cars and fixing anything that needed to be fixed. He is survived by his son, Ollie Eugene Torain of Atlantic City, N.J.; one brother, Wayne Leigh Sr. (Deborah) of Chase City, Va; four sisters, Joyce Jackson (Neven) of Mitchellville, Md., Jacqueline Scott of Elon, N.C., Janice White (Charles) of Augusta, Ga., and Wanda Leigh of Chase City, Va.; two aunts, Angie Boyd and Ruby Boyd; three nieces, Francesca Davis, Pandita Leigh, and Charmaine Thompson; two nephews, Wayne Leigh Jr. and Walter Scott Jr.; and his devoted friend, Leon Holloway. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2019, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 107 W 5th Street, Chase City, VA 23924. The viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. A repass will follow the service in the church's fellowship hall.
