Ruth Myers Lawton, 98, resident of Bright Leaf Place in Danville, Va., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. She was born on February 24, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles Hayden Myers and Louise Sebring Myers. On June 15, 1945, she married Frank Bostick Lawton Jr. who preceded her in death on February 17, 1986. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed greatly. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Danville. She completed her RN training in Des Moines, Iowa, and later worked there in the hospital. She was a member of the Army Nurses Corps in World War II and spent most of her adult life in the nursing profession and nursing others. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Brinson and husband, Mills, of High Point, N.C., and Gail Jeter and husband, Tom, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Adriane Brinson Bass (Brian), Jay Brinson (Claire), Erin Brinson Fawcett (Dustin), Will Jeter (Ashley), Molly Jeter Netzler (Peter), and Ben Jeter (Emilie). She was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren. A celebration of life graveside service will be conducted at Danville Memorial Gardens on Friday, November 22, 2019, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Steve Willis officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
