Betty Jane Norton Hughes, age 87, of Randleman, died on Friday, September 13, 2019, at Universal Health Care of Ramseur. Betty Jane was born on March 25, 1932, the daughter of Bruce Edward and Ercie Lewis Norton. Jane was a native of Danville, Va. and was a office manager for a construction company in Greensboro. She attended Midway Wesleyan Church in Randleman and enjoyed playing the piano and fellowship with friends and family. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her sister, Helen N. Mustain. She is survived by her daughters, Beth Holm (Jerry) of Roswell, N.M., and Ellen McDonald (Mike) of Randleman; sons, Keith Hughes (Cindy) of Silver Spring, Md., and Cary Hughes (Susie Fullerton) of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren: Casey Hughes (Kristen), Chelsie Hughes, Jennifer Turner (Kenneth), Austin Holm, Courtney Holm, Madison Holm, Stephanie Saferite, and Aaron McDonald; and great-grandchildren, Charlie and Taylor Hughes, Darren, Natalie and Vera Turner, Hailey and Brayton McDonald, and Tucker and Talyn Saferite. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Midway Wesleyan Church, 331 Worthville Rd., Randleman, with the Rev. J. Arnold Luther officiating. A celebration of Jane's life will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman is serving the Hughes family.
