Bobby Leroy Hubbard, 84, of Chatham, Va., passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019. Mr. Hubbard was born December 22, 1934, in Rocky Mount, Va. to the late William and Mabel Hubbard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Hubbard; daughters, Barbara Redner and Tina Hubbard; son, Robert Hubbard; sister, Mickey Stephens; and brothers, James Hubbard and William Hubbard. Mr. Hubbard was a member of Marion Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Dry Fork Vol. Fire Dept. and served as Governor of the Moose Lodge in Miami, Fla. Mr. Hubbard enjoyed his long career as a professional truck driver He is survived by his daughters, Linda Guenter (Steve) and Sharon Hubbard, all of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; one son, Christopher Hubbard of Chatham, Va; sisters, JoAnne Hubbard of N.C. and Jeanie Hubbard of Fla.; two stepsons; one stepdaughter; grandchildren, Shannon Redner, Jason Redner, Ryann Rivera, Justin Ledford, Joseph Schladant and Maggie Hubbard; and great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Maizie. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019, at Marion Baptist Church, 2669 Marion Rd, Chatham, VA 24531 with Dr. Henry Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Leemont Cemetery, 1301 Claiborne St, Danville, VA 24540. Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2019, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., Mt. Hermon Chapel.
