Earl Junior Goad, age 89, of Dry Fork, Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, June 10, 2019. He was born April 23, 1930, in Sycamore, Va., to the late Perry O. Goad and the late Hattie Murphy Goad. Earl was married to Dorothy N. Goad who survives of the residence. He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church where he had served on the administrative Board and Board of Trustees. Earl was also a charter member of the Dry Fork Ruritan Club, charter member of Dry Fork Volunteer Fire Department and served on the fire department board. Earl proudly served his country in The United States Navy. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Wanda Goad of Durham, N.C. and Connie G. Wells of Dry Fork, Va.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, David A. Goad; four sisters, Sandra Cornoil, Pauline Evans, Joyce Stormant, Clara Oakes and four brothers, Warren Goad, Paul Goad, Osby Goad and Mack Goad. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Oakland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edward L. Pope and the Rev. Jon Woodburn officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland United Methodist Church cemetery. The family at other times will receive friends at the residence.
