James David Fitch, 78, of Middle River, Md., passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Jim was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., on July 17, 1941, to the late David Franklin Fitch and the late Lillian Marie Fitch. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hyler Fitch of the residence. Jim was also predeceased by his granddaughter, Brittany Elizabeth Fitch. Jim was of the Baptist faith and had been involved in many activities at Community Baptist Church in Chase Md. He served in the United States Navy, retired from the Assembly Division of General Motors and enjoyed collecting American History souvenirs. When Jim married his wife Mary, he instantly was accepted and became a part of the Hyler family. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by a daughter, Robin Bradshaw (Curtis); a son, J.D. Fitch II (Lisa); two brothers, Robert Lawrence Fitch Sr. and Richard Franklin Fitch (Hazel); and three grandchildren, James David Fitch III, Michael Aaron Bradshaw, and Ethan Kibodeaux. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 30, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Hyler Family Cemetery with the Rev. Clayton Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Norris Funeral Services, Inc., West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, Va. and at other times at the residence of Betty Loeb.
