On August 15, 1977, Donnie L. and Brenda A. DeVall of 2481 Moorefield Bridge Rd., Danville, Va., were blessed with a precious daughter, Debbie Gail DeVall and were honored to have her for forty- two years. Having special needs from birth, Debbie fought a long battle of illness. Debbie entered her Heavenly home on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Moses Cone Hospital having her family by her side. Debbie was born in Danville, Va., where she spent her entire life. Debbie was a member of Vandola Baptist Church where she loved hearing the choir sing. In addition to her parents, Debbie is survived by her brothers, Donnie L. DeVall Jr. (Starlette) and Ricky S. DeVall (Pam) of West Jefferson, N.C.; two nephews, Hunter DeVall and Trey DeVall (Hillary); one niece, Amber Alderson (Curt); two great-nieces, Lyla and Claire; and one step-niece, Brittany Lyles of Newton, N.C. Debbie was predeceased by maternal grandparents, William (Billy) and Mildred Alcorn; and paternal grandparents, Harice and Mildred (Micky) DeVall. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Vandola Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Bortz officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 until 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, Lutheran Family Services of Va., Peter Babcock, Dr. Carl Gessner, Dr. Chris Neal, Dr. Yacoub (Dr. Jake), and all of the other special doctors and nurses at Moses Cone Hospital for their concern, compassion, and care shown to our special angel. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Vandola Baptist Church Memorial Fund to further handicapped accessibility of Debbie's church.
