DANVILLE, Va. David Paige Cumbo Sr. passed from his Earthly home to his Heavenly home in the early morning of Friday, August 2, 2019. He was born on September 1, 1947, to the late Carl and Mildred Cumbo. He attended Dan River High School and attended some classes at Danville Community College. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Panama during the Vietnam Era. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie Compton Cumbo; two sons, he was so proud of and loved, David Cumbo Jr. and wife, Marsha, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Dean Cumbo and wife, Lori, of Lynchburg; his precious grandchildren, that he loved dearly, Olivia, Jay and fiance', McKenzie Payne, Dylan, and Luke; his wonderful family, sister, Diane Cumbo Clifton; brother, Lawrence Cumbo of Virginia Beach; sister-in-law, Sue Cumbo; Charles and Shirley Burkett, brother-and-sister-in-law of Florida; his special buddy, Robin Lewis; his cousin, "Rog" Ewing, who he loved like his brother; also, numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts and friends who were so loved by him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by his sister, Melinda Cumbo Mims, and his brothers, Jeffrey Cumbo Sr. and Danny W. Cumbo Sr. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at White Oak Worship Center officiated by Pastor Roger "Rog" Ewing. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 until 10:45 a.m. before the service. Memorial donations may be made to White Oak Worship Center. Norris Funeral Home on 58 West is assisting the family.
