Julia Mae Walden Church of Dry Fork, Va., passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. She was born in Halifax County, Va. on November 3, 1939, and was 80 years of age. She was the daughter of the late John Samuel Walden Jr. and the late Cornelia Mae Gosney Walden. She was married to the late Frank B. Church. She was of the Baptist Church. Julia Mae Walden Church is survived by her children, Lois W. Triplett of Danville, Va., Sarah Whitlow of Dry Fork, Va., and Frank Benjamin "Benjie" Church and wife, Stephanie, of Durham, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Austin Triplett, Patrick Owen, Erica Adams (Ian), Zachary Allen, Richard Wilborne, Christine Jones (Thomas), and Melanie Conner (Greg); six great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Elizabeth Wellons of Conway, S.C., John Samuel Walden Jr. and wife, Pat, of Danville, Va., and Robert Kemper Walden and wife, Morag, of Lebanon, Va., and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by her first husband, John Richard "Rick" Whitlow. A private graveside service will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery with the Rev.
