Barbie Brown Chaney, 56, of Danville, Va., passed on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at Carillon Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va., after battling chronic illnesses for many years. Barbie was born on June 1, 1963, in Eden, N.C., the daughter of Owen Brown and the late Betty Wright. Barbie was a long-time employee of Old Dutch supermarket, a job which brought her so much joy. She was a beloved mother to Bre and Abby and beloved Gammie to Jackson and Vincent. Barbie is survived by her daughter, Breanne Dameron and husband, Joshua Dameron; grandsons, Jackson and Vincent of Pelham, N.C.; her daughter, Abby Woerner and husband, Steven Woerner, of Staunton, Va.; her sister, Babette Hawkins of Spring Hill, Fla.; father, Owen Brown and wife, Joann Brown, of Eden, N.C.; stepsiblings and stepfather, Jack Wright of Eden, N.C. She was predeceased by her mother, Betty Wright and husband, Ed Chaney. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel from 5 until 6:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 on Friday, September 13, 2019, at Norris Funeral Services.
