Joan attended UNC-Chapel Hill for two years and received her Bachelor's degree in teaching from Brigham Young University. She taught many years and loved her students in Wash., Utah, and Va. Joan was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since age 18. She deeply loved and enjoyed her church. Joan also enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, doing genealogy, playing the piano, and snorkeling with her sisters during their retirement vacations in Fla., Hawaii, and St. Simons Island, Mexico. Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who genuinely enjoyed her family, friends, and meeting new people. She will be truly missed.
