One of the two men who were believed to have information about a fatal shooting in Windsor Heights Dec. 23 has been arrested on unrelated charges.

Brandon Marcha Jones, 27, of Danville, turned himself in to the Danville Police Department and was served with the outstanding warrant for felony possession of drugs. He posted bond and was released.

Another man, Antwain Maurice Jones, 34, of Culpeper, remains at large. He is wanted for domestic assault and battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Neither of the men is considered a suspect in the shooting, Lt. Richard Chivvis said.

They just happened to have outstanding warrants and were believed to have important information regarding the shooting, he said.

“We’re not naming them as suspects at this time,” Chivvis said.

The investigation into the Dec. 23 shooting is ongoing.

“We are not ready to name a suspect at this point in time.” Chivvis said.

Anyone with information about his location is encouraged to call 911, Danville Crime Stoppers at (434) 793-0000, the Danville Police Department at (434) 799-6508, or via the crime tips line at crimetips@danvilleva.gov. Information given will remain confidential.
