RiverOak Church of God became the second church to report vandalism to the building in two days.
Danville police responded to a vandalism call at the church at about 7:45 a.m. Sunday. Multiple areas of the building were spray-painted with various slogans, some of which the police are calling “obscene.” Several were simply the initials “BLM.”
By mid-afternoon, much of the spray-painting had been scrubbed down and had faded, but were still legible.
The incident, along with several similar vandalisms that occurred overnight Friday into Saturday along Franklin Turnpike — and included Christ the King Lutheran Church, several homes and other buildings — is under investigation, according to a news release from Capt. T.W. Jones.
