The Danville Optimist Club welcomed Richard Drazenovich, director of Danville Public Works, to speak to the club on May 14.
Drazenovich spoke about the many operations in the care of public works including city roads and city property maintenance, and trash and snow removal.
In addition, the department continues to discover and coordinating repairs for the damage done by Tropical Storm Michael in 2018. Repairs are ongoing, and it’s anticipated to take another 18 months to complete.
He also spoke about the detailed process of working with federal and state disaster agencies for funding of these repairs.
A question and answer session followed. The Optimist Club meets at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Golden Corral.
