Riverview Rotary welcomed Jean Jackson, president of Mothers Stronger Twogether, to the breakfast meeting on July 18. Jackson shared her story of the loss of a son, grandson, sister and nephew in homicides. She and others decided that if they wanted to get their children together, they as mothers had to get together first. Most of the group members have lost children or other family members to gun violence. They endeavor to put a face to the pain generated by violence and not only voice concerns but to help reduce violence at the grassroots level. The group is open to anyone who wants to help make a difference.
