The Luncheon Pilot Club of Danville recently announced Gwyneth Barber (right) as its club ambassador for this year. Nancy Eagle (left) is pictured presenting Barber the club ambassador certificate. Barber has been a loyal member of the club for over 40 years, serving in every capacity possible including president, treasurer and director. A little-known fact about her: Barber and her two sisters competed on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour in New York City and came in second place. The club’s focus is to promote awareness of brain related disorders, disabilities and intellectually challenged children and adults, and to improve the lives of those affected as well as caregivers. This is accomplished through education, volunteer activities and financial support.
