Middle Border Forward announced the third VISION Quest Community Project Idea Pitch Competition for Dan River Region residents — Danville, Pittsylvania County and Caswell County, North Carolina.

Residents are invited to submit their project ideas for a chance to win a $5,000 sponsorship and technical support to make their vision a reality.

Middle Border Forward is a nonprofit community development organization.

Up to six contestants will be selected to make a three-minute “pitch” to a panel of local judges at the competition Sept. 6 at Ballad Brewing, located at 600 Craghead St. in Danville. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The competition starts at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

“Time and time again, we are amazed by the project ideas generated by our neighbors here in the Middle Border region,” said Jennifer Gregory, Middle Border Forward executive director. “This competition is another opportunity for people to ‘be the change’ they want to see where they live and work.”

Applications are open to individuals and small organizations. Nonprofit status is not required. Selected contestants also will receive coaching and presentation support from Middle Border Forward prior to the competition.

More information and the online application are available at www.middleborderforward.org. The application deadline is Monday.
