PUBLIC NOTICE Bedford County is seeking public comments concerning improvements to the transfer operation that will allow the offsite transportation and disposal of municipal solid waste. The project consists of modifying the existing transfer building, related site improvements, and operational changes that will be submitted as part of the application to modify Permit-by-Rule #031 located at 1060 Recycle Road, Bedford, Virginia approximately 7 miles south of the Town of Bedford on Route 43. The Public Comment period is scheduled from October 11 to November 12, 2019. A public meeting will be held on October 30, 2019 from 3 6 p.m. at the Bedford County Waste Management Facility Office located at 1060 Recycle Road, Bedford, Virginia 24523. Interested persons may attend the public meeting or schedule an appointment for a project overview at the facility location to view and copy project improvements and documents, regulatory requirements, and to discuss any issues of concern. Comments can be submitted by hand delivery, e-mail, fax or postal mail. All comments must be in writing and be received at the address below during the comment period, and include the name, mailing address and telephone number of the commenter.
