Big Lots will celebrate the grand opening of its newest store in Danville with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 23.
In addition, the company will kick off donation program benefiting HAVEN of the Dan River Region, a local charity organization with the purpose of raising awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault, providing services to meet the needs of victims and providing a safe shelter for victims and their children.
Big Lots will donate $5 to the local charitable organization each time a BIG Rewards loyalty member redeems a reward at the Danville store during a six-week period from Aug. 23 to Oct. 5.
“We are excited to introduce our new store format to Danville,” stated Steve Haffer, senior vice president chief customer officer of Big Lots. “We are also very proud to serve alongside the Danville community with our support of HAVEN of the Dan River Region.”
At 17,968 square feet, the new store, located at 142 Executive Drive in Danville — the former location of Toys R Us — will be a showcase for the continued roll out of a new store layout and design across all Big Lots stores, both in new builds as well as in redesigns at existing locations.
Big Lots will host local dignitaries, a Big Lots Celebrity Shopper, representatives from HAVEN of the Dan River Region and other community guests at the ribbon cutting.
