Local wine marketing efforts include new roadside signs

CHATHAM — In a county with three wineries and a meadery, state officials unveiled the Southern Virginia Wine Region road signs at The Homeplace Vineyard in Chatham on Monday.

The new signs are part of a continuing Virginia wine region sign program aimed at attracting more visitors to all of Virginia wineries, according to the governor’s office. Pittsylvania County native and Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Todd Haymore unveiled the signs.
