Money coming to fix up old tobacco barns

CHATHAM — New money to repair and stabilize historic tobacco barns in the Dan River Region is coming from JTI in Danville — $100,000 to support Preservation Virginia’s tobacco barns project.

The square curing barns, made from logs, are located in Pittsylvania and Halifax counties, as well as Caswell County in North Carolina.
