Girls’ prep basketball
GW comes back to beat Parkview

SOUTH HILL — Jasmine Hairston scored 24 points and GW overcame an early deficit to beat Parkview 57-51 on Thursday.
Kymmisa Walker recorded a double-double for the Eagles (5-0), scoring 13 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Tia Chatten added eight points and 11 rebounds, and Antwanique Crews scored seven points and pulled down eight rebounds.
In JV action, GW beat Parkview 38-23. Paige Jones scored 15 points for the Eagles (2-0).

GW upends Parkview

Terrence Grosty scored 18 points to lead George Washington to a 55-31 victory against Parkview on Thursday night in Danville. Donta Goods scored 11 points and Time Moore added nine for GW (2-1).

Boys’ middle school basketball
Westwood beats Halifax

Westwood got 14 points from Travis Jones to beat Halifax Middle School 42-34 on Thursday.

Gibson tops Bonner
Gibson defeated Bonner 44-32. Anthony Hamilton scored 15 points and S. Griffith scored seven points for Gibson (4-1).

Halifax tops Westwood

Janiyah Logan scored 19 points and Halifax Middle School defeated Westwood 53-32 on Thursday.
Demetria Price was the high scorer for Westwood (3-2) with nine points.
