Westover Christian edges Faith in four sets

HURT — Westover Christian Academy defeated Faith Christian 25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21 on Monday.
Amanda Alderson had eight kills and three aces, Taylor Nunn had seven kills, five aces and two blocks, Lauren Hand added 28 assists and Katie Sweeney had 10 kills and two blocks for Westover (6-5, 2-3 VACA). Logan Shackelford had nine digs, Hope Davis had four kills, four aces and eight digs and Laura Gibson had 10 digs for the Bulldogs.
Also, Faith’s junior high team defeated Westover 25-15, 23-25, 15-6 as the Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season.
Holly Keller scored 11 points and Erin Mays and Leah Hand had nine points each for Westover (9-1, 3-1).

BY makes short work of Western Alamance
ELON — Bartlett Yancey defeated Western Alamance 25-9, 25-4, 25-14 on Monday.
Rachel Shumaker had 16 kills and six digs, Kristen Mitchell doled out 30 assists and Morgan Simpson had six kills, six digs and three aces for BY (7-8, 6-5), which visits Morehead on Wednesday.

Faith Christian doubles up Westover

HURT — Faith Christian defeated Westover Christian 4-2 on Monday.
Westover’s Tyler Wentz scored off of Josh Keller assist and Jacob Beach also scored.
