Magna Vista edges Tunstall in Piedmont golf tournament

LAUREL FORK — Magna Vista edged Tunstall 330-333 for first place in the Piedmont District tournament on Monday at Olde Mill Resort.
Tunstall’s Trevor Price tied for second while teammates Hunter Squier and Logan Van Asch tied for fourth and Jed Dixon finished in 13th. Price finished second overall and Squier finished fourth overall in the district this season, based on points earned during regular season competition and the district tournament. Both made first-team all-district. Dixon finished ninth overall and made the second team.
Price, Squier, Dixon and Van Asch qualified individually for the Region IV tournament this Monday at Fincastle Country Club in Bluefield.
Bassett placed third with a score of 346, followed by Patrick County (354) and Martinsville (446).
