GW grad Hillary Wood headlines Averett honorees in USA South
Averett University sophomore midfielder and George Washington grad Hillary Wood was named USA South women’s soccer player of the week after scoring twice and registering an assist as the Cougars won twice and extended the school’s longest winning streak to five.

Averett University junior linebacker and Tunstall grad Mario Huffman was named USA South defensive rookie of the week after registering eight tackles in the Cougars’ win over Guilford on Saturday.

Averett freshman tennis player Johanna Heikkinen was named USA South women’s tennis player of the week after winning the No. 1 singles title at the Ferrum Fall Classic on Sunday.
