Averett falls 7-1 to Hornets in women’s tennis

WINCHESTER — The Averett University women’s tennis team fell to the Hornets of Shenandoah University on Saturday by a final score of 7-1. Winning the only match for the visitors was Megan Brady, who beat Eugenia Gelkanova, 6-1, 6-0 in singles play.
Averett (1-10, 1-7) traveled with only five players.
This match completed the Cougars regular season, and the team will now be looking forward to the USA South Conference tournament, which starts this Friday.
