When Michael Vick went to federal prison on dogfighting charges, the Atlanta Falcons drafted Boston College star Matt Ryan to be their next quarterback.
Now Ryan has replaced Vick again.
AirTran Airways today announced it has signed Ryan, the third overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft, to an endorsement deal that will include radio and billboard ads.
Vick’s numerous endorsement deals included one with AirTran before the former Virginia Tech star was prosecuted for his role in a Virginia-based dogfighting operation. Vick eventually lost his endorsement deals with AirTran, Nike and other companies—as well as his job with the Falcons.
