A flurry of campaigning during the next few days is spotlighting the state’s position on the electoral map.
Former Gov. Mark Warner will welcome Sen. Barack Obama at a town-hall meeting in Bristol Thursday, and Obama plans an event in Prince William County.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who withdrew from the Republican nominating race, will be in the Richmond area Thursday at 5 p.m. at a “Burgers With Bill” fundraiser for Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling at 4200 Innslake Drive in Innsbrook.
Romney has been mentioned as a potential running mate for Sen. John McCain of Arizona. Bolling supported Romney before McCain locked up the nomination.
Romney also will appear with Bolling and former Gov. Jim Gilmore at a fundraiser today at 1:30 p.m. at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Arlington County.
McCain will be in Richmond Monday for a private fundraiser at the Richmond Omni Hotel.
