Rockingham County’s theatergoers of Eden, Madison, Mayodan, Reidsville, Stoneville and Wentworth love the live stage experience. We’ll travel throughout the Piedmont Triad, Virginia and New York City to keep up our role as the audience.
Our county has theater bragging rights, too. Regretfully, we too easily overlook our “hometown” on-stage excellence.
Nineteenth season! Congratulations to Theatre Guild of Rockingham County board of directors show directors, performers, technicians, sponsors, volunteers and audiences.
The TGRC just completed its 2007-08 season. Children features included “Ghostchasers,” “Rumplestiltskin,” “Aladdin” and his “Wonderful Magical Lamp.” Musicals with adult and children performers were Sanders Family Christmas and Children of Eden. Steel Magnolias was also an audience pleaser.
In one play alone, “Children of Eden” director Pete Barr and Andy Mock, musical director, worked with a 37 cast members, a live band of five and a production staff of 26. Every part of the county and beyond was represented from age 7 to senior citizens.
May our tourism development, local Chambers of Commerce and news media help citizens and visitors alike be informed of the schedule of this annual entertainment opportunity. The Theatre Guild of Rockingham County’s Web site—http://www.tgrc-nc.com—includes audition and performance dates. Bravo!
