Sheetrock for a 3-bedroom house—Yes, thanks to you, the May 2008, first Rockingham Habitat for Humanity Yard Sale was a success. Your pocket change and spring closet clean-out provided $1,200.
Your purchases will help the new homeowners shape the walls, closets and ceilings in their house under construction at North High Street in Eden.
Thanks go to Lowe’s of Reidsville and to the many Eden residents who provided items to sell. Note: Habitat continues to welcome your items for a future sale.
Hands-on appreciation goes to Church of the Brethren; Habitat homeowners, Angela Broadnax and Amanda Odell. Board members assisting included Mack Hall, Jerry Myott, Bert Ogburn, Wayne “Blue” Priddy, Jim Smith and Kim Smith. Marilyn Hardison of Spray Christian Church rescued the workers that hot day with food and drink.
Applause goes to Nancy Tate, RHFH executive director, and Denise Barker, director of Volunteers and Family Services, who envisioned “new building materials” as they raised funds during extra hours of service.
Prayers, a little time or a few funds qualities you as a stakeholder in each building project for the community. Contact the office to apply for a house, help with a decision-making team, volunteer or register your group to provide a worksite lunch. Call 627-0160, 310 W. Meadow Road in Eden.
In community with you for others,
Rockingham Habitat for Humanity, Inc.
