To the editor:
Several weeks ago, my husband’s mother was admitted to Danville Regional Medical Center after a seemingly innocuous fall developed into pneumonia. We can honestly attest to the fact that during the two weeks that she was a patient there, she received excellent care.
The health care professionals on the 6th and 4th floors and in the Intensive Care Unit were, without exception, efficient, cheerful and courteous to both our mother and to us. Due to her age and preexisting medical conditions, she unfortunately took a sudden turn for the worse, and the nurses in the ICU were especially compassionate when she succumbed to her illnesses.
In spite of our grief over the loss of our mother, we will always be grateful to the many people who cared for her and for us during those difficult few weeks.
In light of the generally bad publicity regarding conditions at the hospital, we thought it important to reassure people that they can receive excellent care in Danville.
