Barack Obama is the 44th president of the United States of America and the first black man to hold the office.
America will be better with Obama as president, though the challenges he will face are immense, not the least of which is a Congress controlled by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, who, at the minimum, have been ineffective lawmakers and will probably continue to be with or without George W. Bush.
In a historic speech in Chicago, Obama acknowledged the more obvious difficulties he will meet in January. “We know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime — two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century,” Obama said, according to The Associated Press.
We endorsed John McCain, primarily because we believe a Congress controlled by one party isn’t good for America. We also think the GOP could have offered a more electable candidate and questioned McCain’s wisdom in choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate. In Rockingham County, Obama got 16,730 votes to McCain’s 22,435.
But those numbers are inconsequential as we move forward.
Obama’s address came before a crowd of more than 240,000 and hundreds of millions watching around the world. He spoke of the challenges, but as cameras panned the multitude of supporters we were left with overwhelming feelings of pride, of hope, and of unity. For the first time in our lives, many of us truly believe we will finally overcome issues of race and unite as Americans.
Obama is a great orator, and that was clearly evident as many in the Chicago crowd wept openly as he spoke—not at us, but to us.
“We may not get there in one year or even in one term,” he said. “But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you, we as a people will get there.”
Today, he is the type of leader we need in the face of a failing economy, a pair of wars, and corrupt and ineffective lawmakers. We are ready to follow, but we must remember this: Barack Obama is a great man, and whether he becomes a great president remains undecided. But we have hope.

I hope that Mr. Trump will offer another opinion a year from now and then give his view of the situation as how Obama has “changed” things. As far as supporting the new administration, any support at all will be more than Obama gave the prior administration.

Yes he supports Roe vs Wade.
Preventing Unintended Pregnancy:
Barack Obama is an original co-sponsor of legislation to expand access to contraception, health information and preventive services to help reduce unintended pregnancies. Introduced in January 2007, the Prevention First Act will increase funding for family planning and comprehensive sex education that teaches both abstinence and safe sex methods. The Act will also end insurance discrimination against contraception, improve awareness about emergency contraception, and provide compassionate assistance to rape victims.
Why don’t you go there and read Barack’s Support of Woman issues yourself.

Bottom line is, regardless of how many abortions performed under which president, THIS president elect is for all forms of abortion, including partial-birth. He is also for gay rights (as if making that choice makes them a minority) and for gun control. Everything we, as Christians, should be against. If guns are outlawed, the ONLY ones who will have guns are the OUTLAWS. With this in tact, the government has COMPLETE CONTROL. Is government control and dependency what we REALLY WANT?

My hope is not in Obama or any other person but only in my Lord.
To say that abortion will go down in this presidents time in office is a laugh.. He is for abortion even without even the parents permission and using tax payer money to pay for it. Most abortions are performed for birth control only, not in danger of the mothers life or rape or incest..

many inexperienced people are talking. Most people are still relying on the government for their problems but as usual they come up short. Abortion is wrong not because you or I say so but because God in heaven says it is.

Another in-“experienced” speaks out who does not know the truth.
Statistic reports show that under Reagen and GHWB abortions were steadily on the rise. Peaking at 2.6 million in 1991.
Under Clinton there was a steady decline in abortions with a reported number of 1.5 million in 2001.
Since 2001 all of the numbers have not been reported and there are estimates of decline, just because under Clinton there was a steady decline.
Under GW Bush most of the Clinton programs have been canceled, so the truth will probably be that there was an increase in abortions, but the reports were held up because of the election.
This election many Catholic’s stepped forward and said they were voting for the Democrats cause abortions declined under there governing.
The writer has it all wrong. Obama does not Hope for a reduction in abortions, he will make it happen.

What kind of “Hope”. The unborn have no “hope”. First agenda is stem cell research. Anyone for encouraging abortion and the results of it and refusing care for those babies who survived a botched abortion would also kill the elderly. I’ve worked public health and the abortions are just another means of “birth control” at our expense and for the profit of those in the industry. The main “hope” is for more money in one pocket, which has been taken out of others. Tax employers heavily and there will be no jobs.

slick, after 911 I was in awe of GWB and was ready to back him all the way, but in January 2003 I saw him pull out the UN reps and in March we were at War. A War that I sat in awe and asked “I hope this President knows more then I do, because in my opinion there was no cause to attack Iraq”.
Years later I find out I am much smarter and more honest then GWB.
