Rockingham hires new ADA

Nikkita Lanee Mitchell will fill a new position in the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office. Mitchell, who will work as an assistant district attorney, worked as a prosecutor in New Hanover and Pender counties and most recently at a private practice in Reidsville, a news release said.
A 1997 graduate of Reidsville High School, Mitchell earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at N.C. A&T, where she was student body president. She earned a law degree from Tulane University in 2005.
Mitchell will fill a position created by the legislature in the 2007-08 budget. She will be responsible for prosecuting criminal cases in District Court and in Juvenile Court.
