Open House focuses on Haw River park

The Environmental Education Center will hold its second annual Open House on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in Browns Summit.

The event will feature activities for children, guided hikes to the wetlands of the Haw River, tours of the newly renovated buildings, park information tables, Friends of State Parks information, Friends of Mountains to Sea Trail information, and regional Native American artifacts and information. Canoes will be available at the lake (a short hike is involved).

The Center is at 339 Conference Center Drive in Browns Summit.
From Greensboro take Church Street north to Highway 150. Turn east, right on 150. At the fire
station, turn left onto Spearman Road. In 1.4 miles, turn left onto Conference Center Drive. The education center is at the end of the drive. From Reidsville take N.C. 158 West.

Turn left on Cunningham Mill Road. Turn right on Spearman Road. Turn right onto

Conference Center Drive.
