Mayodan woman faces felony child abuse charge

A Rockingham County Grand Jury indicted a Mayodan woman Monday on charges stemming from a Sept. 19 report by Dillard Elementary School officials.
Angela Dale Southern, 35, of 301 Whitbeck Drive was charged with felony child abuse, inflicting serious injury. Southern’s bail was set at $5,000 and a Superior Court date was set for Dec. 15.
Dillard school officials reported the Sept. 19 incident involving a 7-year-old child to the Mayodan Police Department, according to Chief Jim Bullins.
