Man charged in stabbing of three men in Eden

Eden police have made an arrest following the stabbing of three people Sunday night near Fieldcrest Road and Delaware Ave.
Jeffrey Leon Chocalas, 18, 313 High St. in Eden, is charged with one count of assault inflicting serious bodily injury and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Bail was set at $25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court Friday, a news release said.
At 8:17 p.m., patrol officers responded to the area and found three people with stab wounds.
The men were Darren Neal, 18; Joseph Lee Fluellen, 16; and Wesley Allen Slade, 18, the release said. Chocalas was a friend of at least one of the men, and all men live near where the stabbing occurred.
All three were transported to Morehead Memorial Hospital. Fluellen and Slade were treated and released.
Neal had two stab wounds in the chest and was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He is in critical condition.
