The Three Rivers Chapter AACA’s first car show in four years brought car enthusiasts to the streets of Draper.

“It was up to 135 cars in 2004. We’re hoping to build it back up. We’re hoping to get it back on the calendar every year,” said Bill Horton, club vice president.

Some 65 cars registered for Saturday’s show.

The Hazzard County Fan Association brought their “Dukes of Hazzard” cars, including Nathan Morris of Eden and the “General Lee” ‘68 Dodge Charger and Jonathan Kennison of Charlottes-ville, Va., and the “Sheriff Rosco” ‘77 Monaco. The trunks of the cars were filled with Hazzard collector items, many autographed by cast members.

“The kids get a big kick out of it,” said Kennison. “Adults smile because it takes them back to their childhood.”

One of the newer cars was Angela Naff-Cecil’s ‘95 Z28 Chevy Camaro. The orange and white car sports a unique paint job under the hood — an M&M “Crispy” with the Z28 emblem.

Naff-Cecil says she was “born and raised around cars.” The Camaro was featured in a 2007 edition of “Camaro Performances” and a 2005 edition of “Camaro World.” Naff-Cecil came from Henry, Va., with her husband, Brian Cecil, who also brought his Camaro.

“I love it. I think it’s fun,” said Naff-Cecil, of Saturday’s show. “I love the look of the downtown. It’s old-timey looking.”

The “50-50 Street Rodders,” a Greensboro car club, also came.

“Old men with old cars” is how club member Cliff Hearne describes the club.

“We don’t care for trophies. We just want to have a good time,” said club member Jim Medley.

Judges Saturday awarded trophies in more than 40 classes of cars and trucks.
