8-year-old boy in serious condition after accident in Reidsville

An 8-year-old boy was struck by a car in Reidsville on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The boy, Eerardo Loma Platanero, of 1715 Amos St., entered the road on Amos Street when he was struck. He was listed in serious condition at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. The accident happened about 3:14.
The driver, Shalina Leshawn Walker of 680 Henry T Graves Road, Yanceyville, was headed north in a 1996 Dodge Caravan.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash. No charges have been filed.
